Insights and magnetic milestones worth noting

Large format digital printing has clearly become the dominant printing method today. Whether it’s display graphics, POP, exhibits or trade show displays; it’s all about faster, better, cheaper. Minimal pre-press time, faster production output and better print resolution all contribute to higher quality prints and lower production costs.

So the demand is on to find wider substrates. After all, maximum print yield contributes greatly to the whole lower cost equation. Many substrate manufacturers have begun answering the call. However, one printable magnetic sheeting manufacturer somewhat backed into it.

MagX produced the first flexible magnetic sheeting ever, way back in 1965. Because their primary marketing area at that time used the metric system, they produced their printable magnetic sheeting in meter wide rolls. So as large format printing came into its own, MagX’s meter wide product became the first printable magnetic sheeting used in the wide format digital printing industry. As John Kanis, MagX’s president and CEO, says; “Better lucky than smart any day.”

Today, MagX XTRA-WIDE printable magnetic sheeting has become the product of choice for large format, roll-to-roll, UV flatbed and latex printers. MagX manufactures a complete line of XTRA-WIDE digitally printable magnet sheeting products including; MagX24, MagX30, MagX40 and their newest offering MagX48, the first 48” wide printable magnetic sheeting for the wide format digital printing industry.
